Better There Co. is a faith-based creative company that helps people grow closer to God through redemptive storytelling, intentional travel, and spirit-led social media.

Our Story

We believe God can use anything — a book, a trip, a moment online — to draw us closer to Him. It doesn’t have to be polished or perfect to be purposeful.

The name Better There was inspired by a beloved line from The Voyage of the Dawn Treader in The Chronicles of Narnia, where Aslan tells Lucy:

“That by knowing Me here for a little, you may know Me better there.”

That’s the heartbeat of everything we do.

Through Better There Books, we share redemptive fiction and truth-filled nonfiction that awaken hope, stir the imagination, and point readers back to Christ.

Through Better There Travel, we plan intentional, awe-inspiring trips that create space to reconnect with God, others, and yourself — so you return home not just rested, but renewed.

Through Better There Socials, we help Christian creatives show up online with confidence and clarity, teaching them how to build altars of faith instead of chasing platforms out of pressure.

At the core of it all is a quiet desire:

To help people catch glimpses of Jesus right where they are — in the stories they read, the places they go, and the messages they share — so they can know Him better there.

Behind the Brand

Hi, I’m Janelle — writer, travel planner, social media coach, and lover of stories that stir your soul.

I believe that books can spark hope, travel can shift our perspective, and even social media can become sacred when it’s surrendered to God. I started Better There Co. because I’m passionate about helping people grow deeper in their faith — through what they read, where they go, and how they show up online.

None of this was part of my “plan.” But somewhere between writer’s conferences, life-changing trips, and the steady stream of “Hey, can you look at my Instagram?” messages, God kept nudging me forward. I kept following, and Better There slowly came to life — one prayer, one page, and one project at a time.

These days, I’m either curled up with a fantasy novel, planning a life-giving trip for a client, or chasing adventure with my husband and our two rescue pups. I love traveling the world, playing golf with my guy, and dreaming up ways to help others find joy, purpose, and Jesus in the everyday.
